Which microphone should you use?

When I first started creating audios using audacity I had a plain £30 microsoft headphone with microphone. It was basic but it sounded okay, not great, the background was like being in an empty hall!

When that broke (that was my third headphone/mic set) I decided to look for a separate mic and chose the Samson C01U USB Condenser Microphone. I picked mine up at Amazon because it had the best price.

It is a fabulous microphone and I love using it now. I can be picked up quite far away so sometimes on webinars I am not always sat at in my chair and people still hear me okay (I like to stand and walk around - helps the circulation!)

Using audio in your local marketing plan

Audio is a great way to stay in touch with people, provide entertaining interviews/elessons and provide information to your target market.

You can create audio and add it to your site or blog and you can add it to audio sharing sites (known as podcasts) which are full of visitors looking for great information.

Submit to itunes

Once you have started creating audio using audacity take the time to add it to itunes because it will be one of the easiest ways for people to connect with you.

Once you have started creating audios you can also add them to your blog and think about transcribing them so people have something to read as well
