Local Business Directories

List of Local Business Directories, Niches Directories, IYP Sites & Social Networking Sites

Below is a list of some great local business directories and sites that you can add your local business to in order to attract customers already searching for what you offer.  Local search is on the increase and your business must have a presence on the internet to take advantage of local search marketing.

If a potential customer types in "van hire in Nottingham" you want them to find YOUR van hire business based in Nottingham - and even if your site can't make it to the top of the search engines (although if you own a Site Build It! Local Business Package it will!) you can find other places that will and use them like squidoo or Hubpages.

Add your business

Being part of these local search business directories will mean having to pay a fee in most cases but what you will have is a valuable one way link back to your website/blog from sites which receive thousands of visitors a day and so the thing to focus on is the benefit rather than the cost!

Also think about the return on your investment. If listing your business cost £50 a year how much will you have to sell before being in profit? For some businesses one or two sales from customers who find you in these local business directories.

If funds are tight start with the free ones and add your business as soon as you can into the others.  You can still do a lot to make sure you are found in the organic search results and I have provided some information this article ---> local search marketing tips

To really ensure your local business is found by local people take a look at the Site Build It! Local Business Package which offers all the tools you need to ensure you select keywords that are relevant to your business and being searched for by your customers as well as giving your the tools to FULLY optimise your site with every page you create!
